Abstract:Objective The aim is to investigate whether the adults eating behaviors were effected or not by whose experience of famine and obtain evidence of the effect of prenatal exposure to adults health condition. Method A total of 1085 people who were born in the midst of 1956 1965 were measured with a questionnaire of frequency French food with a method of multi stage stratified random sampling around from urban and rural areas in Chongqing.The group G2 included 313 individuals who were born in famine years 1959.10~1962.3,the group G1 included 299 individuals who were born 1956.1~1958.12 before the famine years, and the group G3 included 473 individuals who were born after the famine years 1963.1~1965.12. Result The frequencies of eating animal organs and eggs of the G2 group were 1.51% and 30.66%, higher than those of the other two groups. The frequencies of eating poultry meat, nuts, and the milk products of the G2 group were 4.04%, 13.77%, 20.62%, lower than those of the other two groups. The frequencies of eating beans products and fish of the G1 group were 22.50% and 4.57%, higher than those of the G3 group and lower than those of the G1 group. The frequencies of eating fruits of the G1 group were 44.73%, higher than those of G1 group, and lower than those of the G3 group. In the G2 group, we found that the major factors affecting the food consumption rate are education, appetite, working conditions, the average monthly income, marital status and exercise. Conclusion there is no evidence that the famine in early life would influence the dietary pattern in their adulthood.
